Of course, only a few of them can keep up with the changes of times and become the top perfect classical brands. These so called classical watches are rare in the markets today, they are just as precious as pandas and their auction prices are extremely high which is so amazing, but most watch lovers can only look at them and sigh at the high prices. Are there any economical ways to own such a classical watch which has a long history?

Chronoswiss Klassik History

It has come to light that the creator of Chronoswiss Gerd-Rüdiger Lang is a timepiece master himself, and he is also the authority of present research on Chronograph history and technology. The very popular classical chronograph– Klassik Chronograph, produced by Chronoswiss, is just a rare timepiece which master G-R Lang created for those watch lovers who have a deep love for chronograph with his unique perspective. This self-winding chronograph has always been a basic product out of all the Chronoswiss products. The lug of drip shape on Klassik Chronograph is not just a memory of 1950s, but also manufactured by the original tools from the golden economic times. Just as other details that Chronoswiss displays on Klassik Chronograph, they not only prove the high-tech and proficient watch-making technology of Chronoswiss, but also offer a most economical choice for watch lovers to enjoy a classical chrono.

Chronoswiss Klassik Movement

Klassik Chronograph uses self-winding chronograph movement C.741, it is changed from ETA 7750, although this is very commonplace, do not forget: no matter from which aspect, the Valjoux 7750 movement with 25 jewelry, top accuracy of 0.25s chrono display, chrono function of 30mins and 12 hours is one of the most reliable chrono movements nowadays. It has become an extraordinary masterpiece especially after being thoroughly modified by the Swiss traditional top class watch making technology, on which Chronoswiss has always insisted. For example, Chronoswiss has a special hand style window display at 3 o’clock, inter-reflecting with the dial with complicated markers, and showing that the classical watch making theory which Chronoswiss has been always insisting, and further showing that Chronoswiss’s determination on persisting in perfect. The 18K rose gold/stainless steel double metals case is the most important element to Klassik Chronograph. This Klassik Chronograph is water resistant to 30m, which is hard for other classical watches to keep up with.

The Chronoswiss Régulateur

Chronoswiss – A Newcomer to Luxury Swiss Wristwatches

Chronoswiss – this luxury watch brand could be considered a newcomer by Swiss Watch industry standards – it’s founder Gerd-Rudiger Lang only established his workshop in 1981. However the Chronoswiss name has been elevated to a high level of respect across the watch manufactures industry due to its passion for the watch making craft and the essence of its traditions.

On serving his apprenticeship, Gerd-R Lang became an employee of the prestigious Heuer watch company (later to become TAG Heuer). He was to remain here for twenty years working on the famous sports chronographs and stopwatches including the iconic Monaco chronograph watch.

On his departure from Heuer, Lang furthered his studies becoming a “Master Watchmaker” and in 1982 the first watch bearing the name Chronoswiss was unveiled and the company was officially registered in 1984.

A Signature Piece – Chronoswiss Regulateur

The Regulateur unveiled in 1987 become a signature piece for the company showcasing the now synonymous oversize “onion” crown, exhibition case back, soldered lugs and milled bezel.

The Chronoswiss Regulateur was also a world first being the first wristwatch with hours and minutes displayed separately.

Other Significant Chronoswiss Models

Other important pieces in the Chronoswiss portfolio include the Chronoscope, the Delphis, which features retrograde minutes and digital hour display and the remarkable Digiteur which combines non-analogue display with an analogue movement.

More recently the Sauterelle models have been added to the collection, complete with jumping seconds – traditionally a feature of a quartz watch even though the movement is entirely mechanical.

The Sauterelle, translating as “Grasshopper” is important also because it is Chronoswiss’ first manufacture creation having been crafted entirely in house from scratch.

The history of the Chronoswiss brand may only reach back 25 years but it is a name often mentioned alongside centuries-old traditional watch companies. These ingenious and innovative timepieces will surely become the heirlooms of the future.

Great prices on Chronoswiss watches can be found at Chronolux and if you enjoyed this brief overview of the brand, then I would recommend that you visit The WatchPress for more historical features and Chronoswiss watch reviews.

Chronoswiss Timemaster Chronograph GMT DLC

Chronoswiss Timemaster Chronograph GMT DLC

Chronoswiss Adds a New Piece to Their Timemaster Collection

There are two versions of the piece, stainless steel or stainless steel with a DLC coating. DLC is diamond-like coating, rumor has it that the Russian military used the process of DLC on their helecopter blades for its extreme resistance to abrasion although how this little nugget of information became public knowledge is anyone’s guess. Anyway, it is true to say that DLC provides the ultimate in durability compared to normal stainless steel or PVD coated steel, if you’ve ever worn a watch with a highly polished stainless steel bezel then unless you kept it under your cuff you’ll know how quickly they pick up scratches.

The DLC version looks superb with its decidedly monochrome theme, the GMT hand is a stand-out red color matched by the date indication at 6 o’clock and even the huge onion crown manages to have stealth-like quality. Also available is a stainless steel version with a black dial which is the perfect backdrop for that vivacious GMT hand.
